Welcome to the home page of

First Assembly of God El Reno Oklahoma!

Life is complicated.  Maybe you’ve experienced a “disconnect” between church and life. You came to church looking to fit the pieces

of your life together better through faith and left wondering how relevant your experience was.

FIRST ASSEMBLY is a growing church family.

We’ve asked hard questions about church and been given a vision for something new and relevant.

FIRST ASSEMBLY is a community of real people committed to following Jesus, to growing together and to experiencing life in a new way.

At First Assembly you will experience:

                 *   Uplifting Music

                 *   Messages of Faith and Hope

                 *   Activities for the Whole Family

This is your invitation to make FIRST ASSEMBLY OF GOD your church home, if you are not already an active participant in a Bible-believing church.

We would be honored to have the opportunity to get to know you better!

Be Careful

Read 2 Samuel 11:1 through 12:14; Psalm 51:1 through 52:9

Published: Mar 25, 2017

In children’s church, cautions are urged: be careful what you look at, what you think and talk about, and, certainly, what you do. David’s failure occurred when he ignored this progression of sin. Sin enters with thoughts, continues through speech, then the action occurs.

David saw a beautiful woman and allowed lustful thoughts into his mind. He spoke his thoughts; then sin was born. David knew God’s commands but chose to disobey them. The results David reaped were devastating to him and his family. He confessed his sins to God and asked for forgiveness.

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me (Psalm 51:10).

God is merciful and gracious to His children and will forgive those who come humbly to Him in repentance. But it is always better to avoid the sin in the first place.  Obeying God’s commands brings blessings, but disobeying brings grave consequences.

Prayer Suggestion: Dear God, help me to consistently guard my thoughts and to live to please You.

Quicklook: Psalm 51:1–12
