First Assembly of God

                      Welcome to the home page of

         First Assembly of God El Reno Oklahoma!

  Life is complicated.  Maybe you’ve experienced a “disconnect” between church and life. You came to church looking to fit the pieces

of your life together better through faith and left wondering how relevant your experience was.

FIRST ASSEMBLY is a growing church family.

We’ve asked hard questions about church and been given a vision for something new and relevant.

FIRST ASSEMBLY is a community of real people committed to following Jesus, to growing together and to experiencing life in a new way.

        At First Assembly you will experience:

                 *   Uplifting Music

                 *   Messages of Faith and Hope

                 *   Activities for the Whole Family

This is your invitation to make FIRST ASSEMBLY OF GOD your church home, if you are not already an active participant in a Bible-believing church.

We would be honored to have the opportunity to get to know you better!

Left Over but Valuable

Read Amos 5:1 through 9:15

When people make their own clothes, they purchase patterns and material at a fabric store. After selecting the desired fabric, a salesperson unrolls the bolt of cloth to cut off the required yardage. However, occasionally a person can purchase a remnant or a shorter length of fabric that is left after most of the fabric has been removed from a bolt. It is left over to be sure—but still valuable and useful.

Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the Lord God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph (Amos 5:15).

As Amos proclaimed grim judgments on his people, he also offered the hope of mercy for those he called the “remnant of Joseph.” This was a small number of loyal believers that God could preserve. In a way they were like the remnants of cloth—left over, but still valuable. This, of course, is a reassuring message for Amos’ audience and for us today. Indeed, God always preserves His people—for their benefit and His glory.

Prayer Suggestion: Lord, help me trust You even when I seem to be alone in following You.
